on

BENGALURU, India, Jan. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Zoomcar Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZCAR) (“Zoomcar”, or “we”, or “our”), the leading marketplace for car sharing in India, proudly announces a milestone achievement in its financial performance in select unaudited and unreviewed financial results for the third fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2024. The company recorded its highest-ever unaudited and unreviewed contribution profit for the single month in December 2024, amounting to $494,506 based on provisional financials for the month, sufficient to cover its operational costs in India (excluding exceptional items). Zoomcar currently only operates in India and does not incur operational costs in any other country. This accomplishment underscores Zoomcar’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainable growth.

December 2024 marked a significant growth in consumer demand, leading to a 17% growth in bookings compared to December 2023. This surge in activity highlights the growing appeal of Zoomcar’s platform among Hosts and Guests, as well as the increasing adoption of car-sharing solutions across India.

Zoomcar’s financial turnaround has been remarkable over the past year. Key highlights include:

In the first fiscal quarter 2024-25 report, Zoomcar reported a contribution profit of $0.46 million (20%), a substantial improvement in contribution margin from a loss of $1.2 million (-45%) in the first fiscal quarter 2023-24.Similarly, Zoomcar shared a record quarterly contribution profit of $1.21 million (54% of revenue) in the second fiscal quarter 2024-25, up from a loss of $0.12 million (-5%) in the second fiscal quarter 2023-24.December 2024’s unaudited and unreviewed monthly contribution profit continues this positive trajectory, following a streak of four consecutive quarters of contribution profit improvement filed by the company.

Hiroshi Nishijima, Interim CEO of Zoomcar, commented, “By achieving a record contribution profit (unaudited and unreviewed) in December 2024 which is our peak seasonal demand month and covering operational costs reflects that our business fundamentals are right on track by putting the customer experience at the center of our strategy. This focus drives repeat bookings from Guests and strengthens Host retention, all while minimizing our spend on discounts and marketing—an organic flywheel of growth. With improved profitability, we are committed to reinvesting in enhancing the customer journey and launching innovative products that add value to our community.”

As Zoomcar heads into 2025, the company remains dedicated to advancing its mission of empowering Hosts, offering affordable and convenient transportation for Guests, and driving financial sustainability. The continuous trend of improving contribution profits not only signals progress but also sets a strong foundation for the future.

Breaking Stereotypes: New 3Fun Survey Reveals Media’s Missteps in Polyamory Representation

Published

By

NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Despite growing visibility, only 11% of polyamorous individuals feel media portrayals align with their real-life experiences, according to a new survey by 3Fun, the leading dating app for open-minded singles and partners seeking like-minded connections. The survey, conducted among 1,312 3Fun users, highlights how media misrepresentation shapes public perceptions, reinforces stereotypes, and impacts user expectations on dating platforms like 3Fun.

Key Findings from the 3Fun Survey:

Limited Representation: Nearly 40% of respondents said they rarely see polyamorous relationships in mainstream media, while 17% reported never seeing them at all.Social Media Influence: Platforms like Instagram and TikTok are driving perceptions of polyamory for 40% of users, far surpassing traditional media like TV and film (10%).Accuracy Issues: Only 11% of respondents described media portrayals as “very accurate,” while 52% rated them as “rarely accurate” or “completely inaccurate.”Mixed Progress: While 39% believe portrayals have improved, 38% said they’ve noticed no change at all.Normalization vs. Stereotypes: Social media is a double-edged sword—40% think it normalizes polyamory, but 34% believe it reinforces harmful stereotypes.Global vs. Local Media: Over 21% noted global media tends to be more open-minded about polyamory than local outlets, which are often conservative or avoid the topic altogether.

“The data from this survey shows how far we still have to go in achieving authentic representation of polyamory in media and pop culture,” said Max Ma, Founder and CEO of 3Fun. “These portrayals don’t just shape public opinion—they directly influence how our users feel about their relationships and their ability to live openly. At 3Fun, we’re dedicated to creating a supportive community where everyone can explore their desires without fear of judgment.”

The Real Impact of Misrepresentation

Nearly half of respondents (47%) identified cultural and societal norms as the biggest barriers to societal acceptance of polyamory—more significant than concerns about media portrayal or visibility. However, respondents emphasized that better representation would lead to:

Easier conversations about polyamory (32%)Improved understanding within their social circles (21%)

Gigi Engle, certified sex and relationship psychotherapist and 3Fun’s resident intimacy expert, echoed this sentiment: “Representation matters. Media has the power to normalize relationships and dismantle stereotypes, but only when done thoughtfully. This survey shows a clear need for creators to approach polyamory with authenticity and care.”

Prestigious Annual IoT Breakthrough Awards Program Recognizes Standout Internet-of-Things Companies and Products

ATLANTA, Jan. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — KORE, a global leader in Internet of Things (“IoT”) Solutions and pioneering IoT hyperscaler, and provider of IoT Connectivity, Solutions and Analytics, today announced that their In-Vehicle Video solution has been selected as winner of the “Connected Car Product of the Year” award in the 9th annual IoT Breakthrough Awards program conducted by IoT Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies and products in the global Internet-of-Things (IoT) market today.

KORE offers a comprehensive set of solutions that deliver continuous and detailed visibility into fleet operations for fleet managers. KORE In-Vehicle Video (IVV), including IoT dash cams and supporting AI technology, leverages the latest in high-quality video technologies to improve driver behavior and increase driver productivity.

KORE IVV also empowers organizations to establish accident fault and facilitate timely and effective driver coaching via a centralized platform that tracks and visually monitors the fleet. Continuous video streams are captured for vehicles with live streaming from multiple cameras at once with infrared sensors for night vision, and event-based video snapshots are captured when triggered on a vehicle’s route. Videos can also be accessed remotely to either stream or download without having to physically access the vehicle.

The platform’s AI feature can monitor fatigue as well as distracting behaviors such as texting while driving, smoking, and cellphone usage, and alerts are sent out to headquarters upon detection. These alerts can then be used to coach drivers enabling them to make better, safer choices while operating company vehicles. Proof of an in-vehicle video system helps to reduce collision frequency and, as a result, insurance costs. KORE’s video-enabled safety features reduce the risk of an at-fault accident. Fleet managers can also measure how vehicles are being used and how drivers are performing against contextual data to plan targeted training.

“It’s an honor to receive this award from IoT Breakthrough, especially with all the work our team has put into developing solutions that fit the needs of fleets of all sizes. Our technology was built to help our customers improve driver behavior, reduce insurance costs, and enhance the safety of their fleets,” said Ron Totton, President and CEO of KORE.  “KORE’s In-Vehicle Video Solution also comes with connectivity offerings, and a full support team to help our customers defend innocent drivers, potentially reduce insurance premiums, and accelerate the insurance claims process with high-definition video evidence.”

The mission of the IoT Breakthrough Awards program is to conduct the industry’s most comprehensive analysis of the global Internet-of-Things industry and then recognize the ‘breakthrough’ innovators, leaders and visionaries in a broad range of IoT categories, including Industrial and Enterprise IoT, Smart City technology, IoT Security, Connected Home and Home Automation, Connected Car, and many more. This year’s program attracted thousands of nominations from companies all over the world.

“KORE is helping to save both lives and money. The annual accident rate for commercial fleets is approximately 20%, meaning one in five vehicles will be part of a collision, compromising safety and crippling businesses financially. Though in-vehicle video can help, adopting it has been a challenge due to the demands of multiple systems and requirements,” said Steve Johansson, managing director at IoT Breakthrough. “KORE IVV leverages the latest technology to improve driver behavior, increase productivity as well as empower organizations to establish accident fault and facilitate effective driver coaching. We’re so pleased to recognize KORE with the ‘Connected Car Product of the Year’ award!”

KORE’s turn-key solution simplifies remote tracking, monitoring, and management of vehicles and drivers by eliminating costly integrations and configurations. The solution includes a robust fleet management application, managed network connectivity from Tier 1 cellular operators, and support for advanced vehicle tracking devices from leading manufacturers.
