NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Climate Transition Development Corporation, a New York-based green infrastructure and renewable energy development firm, announced that Terrapin Geothermics Inc., a leading Canadian developer specializing in clean electricity, heating and cooling generation from industrial waste and geothermal resources, will spearhead the project development of the Heat-to-Value and renewable energy strategy for its Japan-wide green infrastructure and renewable energy project, Green Snow.
Terrapin is honored to bring its technical and engineering expertise in renewable energy infrastructure to the development of this incredible property in Japan to deliver sustainable heating solutions.
This marks a significant step in the development of a sustainability-inspired advanced entertainment and wellness destination community in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. The Green Snow Project encompasses development including a hotel, spa and sake distillery on 113 acres of land, with power, heating and cooling provided by renewable energy sources. The project is a groundbreaking joint collaboration between co-development partners, Climate Transition Development and Japanese real estate developer and landowner, Global Family. Pre-development of the project was completed in 2023 by green infrastructure development firm, TerraScale and Global Family.
Terrapin’s involvement in the Green Snow Project is further cemented via a recently announced merger in which Terrapin and TerraScale will merge into Climate Transition Development. Leveraging its unique project development model, Terrapin will orchestrate the identification, conceptualization, financing, design, construction, and operation of its Heat-to-Value projects in Japan.
