Illustrative Mathematics celebrates a year of substantial growth and innovation

The nonprofit made significant strides toward its vision of a world where all learners know, use, and enjoy mathematics

TUCSON, Ariz., Dec. 20, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Illustrative Mathematics (IM) marks a strong year as more districts turn to the nonprofit to enable equitable access to problem-based, standards-aligned mathematics curricula at their schools. In 2024, Illustrative Math expanded in California, New York, Pennsylvania, and beyond, reaching more than 2.6 million students.

This year, Illustrative Math introduced innovative offerings to further enhance student learning. In July, IM launched IM® v.360, the newest version of the IM® K–12 Math curriculum. IM v.360 features enhanced learning goals, refined teacher guidance, and more inclusive lesson contexts. A free digital version, including downloadable print materials, is available on IM’s new AccessIM website. For enhanced print and digital formats, IM v.360 is offered through IM Certified® partners—Imagine Learning, Kendall Hunt, and Kiddom. Families and students can also conveniently access the curriculum through AccessIM.

In addition to launching IM v.360, Illustrative Mathematics introduced IM Academy, a professional development pilot series that equips educators with the tools to implement IM’s problem-based curriculum with confidence. These immersive sessions are available for single-seat registration and open to all, including new teachers in districts already engaged in IM’s foundational Teach & Learn training. IM Academy sessions provide educators the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the curriculum, fostering inclusive, engaging math instruction for all students.

Schools nationwide have noted achievements in math scores using the Illustrative Math curriculum this year:

Thomas Mifflin School, a K–8 school in the School District of Philadelphia, shared significant achievements in their standardized test results: “Mifflin’s intense focus on the implementation of the new math curriculum [by] Illustrative Math resulted in a 5.3 percentage point increase in students scoring proficient/advanced on the PSSA,” said Mifflin Principal Allison McConnell in an interview with the Philadelphia Tribune.

Wilton Public Schools in Connecticut also highlighted IM as a significant factor in improving student math performance after adopting the curriculum authored by Illustrative Math as its primary instructional resource.

“By using consistent, grade-level materials across the K–8 spectrum, we’ve been able to create a more coherent and equitable math program,” said Trudy Denton, the math and science coordinator for Wilton schools. “This consistency allows teachers to build on previous learning, and students are better prepared for the challenges ahead,” she added during the November Board of Education meeting.

Verona Area School District in Wisconsin has also celebrated success this year with IM’s curriculum, particularly in helping students meet grade-level expectations for math. Among students in grades 2–9 who took the STAR Math computer assessments, the district reported a year-over-year decrease of 1.1 percent in the number of students requiring math intervention.

CALGARY, AB, Dec. 20, 2024 /PRNewswire/ – Exro Technologies Inc. (TSX: EXRO) (OTCQB: EXROF), a leading clean-technology company that provides new-generation power control electronics that expand the capabilities of electric motors and batteries, is pleased to provide an update on the settlement of interest payments through the issuance of common shares.

Pursuant to the terms of the C$15,000,000 secured convertible debentures of the Company issued on December 30, 2022 (the “Debentures”), bearing interest at 12% per annum, payable semi-annually in arrears beginning on June 30, 2023 (the “Due Date”). As of December 20, 2024 the Company has 14,950 debenture units outstanding, and an aggregate amount of interest owing on the Debentures payable of C$897,000 (the “Interest”). The Company has elected to issue 6,407,141 common shares in the capital of the Company (“Common Shares”) at a deemed price of $0.14 to the debenture holders as payment for the interest. Pursuant to the Debentures, the deemed issue price per Common Share is calculated based on the volume weighted average trading price of the Common Shares for the five trading days immediately prior to December 20, 2024.

The issuance of the Common Shares as payment for interest owing on the Debentures is subject to the terms and conditions of the Debentures as well as the receipt of all requisite approvals, including, without limitation, the approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange.
