Altus Nova Launches Advanced Multi-User Voice Platform to Reinvent Memorization and Learning–First Deployed for Bible Study Groups

Published

on

AUSTIN, Texas, April 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Altus Nova Technologies, a product and technology consulting firm known for solving complex software challenges, today announced the release of a breakthrough voice-based learning platform that transforms how individuals and groups engage with and memorize meaningful texts. Developed as a charitable initiative and offered completely free to the public, the platform was initially built to support Bible study groups, churches, and youth organizations, while the underlying technology represents a major advancement in multi-user voice interaction and real-time learning systems.

“Projects like this let us test and prove those capabilities in meaningful ways.”

The system blends custom speech recognition workflows, AI-generated, contextually relevant study plans, and real-time device synchronization — offering a level of interactivity and feedback not seen in commercial voice applications today.

Built to Overcome the Limitations of Smart Assistants

The project began with an early prototype using Alexa buttons, but the team quickly encountered significant limitations—such as fixed listening windows, unreliable pause handling, and a lack of support for multiplayer turn-taking. Altus Nova responded by building a completely custom voice experience from the ground up.

“We realized that if we wanted natural, real-time spoken interaction with multiple users, we had to build the entire system ourselves—from audio handling to turn coordination to cross-device synchronization,” said Puru Agrawal, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Altus Nova.

Key Features of the Platform

Solo Memorization Mode: Users select Bible verses to practice. The system voice reads each passage aloud, pausing at key words, while users “buzz in” to speak the missing words. Spoken responses are analyzed for accuracy and progress is tracked over time.AI-Driven Study Plans: The platform uses AI to recommend relevant Bible passages based on themes such as Courage, Forgiveness, or Purpose, and provides meaningful explanations to help users connect with the material.Multiplayer Competition Mode: Up to four users can join a shared session via a link. The system coordinates buzzer input, turn-taking, microphone access, scoring, and synchronized visual cues—ensuring a smooth and fair voice-based competition.Device Coordination Engine: Built-in real-time synchronization ensures all devices reflect the current phrase, score status, and speaker turn—making the experience immersive whether users are in the same room or connected remotely.

Advancing Innovation for Real-World Applications

While this project was designed as a free resource for communities, it also reflects the kind of technical leadership Altus Nova brings to its commercial clients. The skills and technologies developed—such as voice automation, real-time coordination, and resilient distributed systems—are being applied to solve mission-critical challenges across industries.

“We’re using the same architectural foundation to help utility companies build voice-based dispatching and coordination platforms for outage response teams communicating by radio in the field,” said Jason Parrish, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Altus Nova. “These systems require fast decision-making, reliable speech input, and multi-user coordination under real-world constraints. Projects like this let us test and prove those capabilities in meaningful ways.”

AGS to Host Panel, “It’s Not About Skills,” at SIA’s CWS Summit Europe

Allegis Global Solutions, the leading provider of global workforce solutions, will host a panel, “It’s Not About Skills,” at Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) CWS Summit Europe, on Tuesday, 20 May.

LONDON, May 18, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Allegis Global Solutions, the leading provider of global workforce solutions, will host a panel, “It’s Not About Skills,” at Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) CWS Summit Europe, on Tuesday, 20 May.

“CWS Summit Europe is one of the premier events in the contingent workforce industry, and I am thrilled to engage in this dialogue with an audience of industry leaders, practitioners and partners.”

Driven by the need for more cost-effective solutions, many businesses are adopting a skills-based hiring model that focuses on the skills of candidates rather than solely on experience and credentials. However, the label of ‘skills-based hiring’ is only one piece of the puzzle. It needs to be part of a broader strategy.

The panel, moderated by AGS Managed Services Vice President of International Markets Simon Bradberry, will explore why, when optimising a cost-effective workforce, it is not just about the skills – it’s about the work. Bradberry will be joined by industry practitioners Jonathan Evans, Human Resources Director for Ambition 2030: Axial at AstraZeneca; Cat Halliwell, Executive Director – Service Excellence for EMEA at AGS Managed Services; and Victoria Murphy, Global Head of TA Operations at JLL.

“CWS Summit Europe is one of the premier events in the contingent workforce industry, and I am thrilled to engage in this dialogue with an audience of industry leaders, practitioners and partners,” said Bradberry. “Despite an unprecedented pace of change and uncertainties in the market, today’s workforce leaders still have to get work done. And whilst a focus on skills isn’t wrong, we believe that in a rush to solve productivity challenges, the industry has over-prioritised skills, inadvertently narrowing the focus and overlooking other critical elements for successful work execution such as role deconstruction and harmonising multiple channels to work. I’m excited to talk with this experienced panel and hear how they’re evolving their workforce strategies in enterprising ways.”

Allegis Global Solutions is proud to be a platinum sponsor of CWS Summit, one of the premier industry conferences and a destination for multiple Fortune 2000 companies around the world. In addition to the speaking panel, AGS will host a roundtable discussion on AI-enabled sourcing and an exhibit at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, 20-21 May.
