Now Available on the App Store and Google Play – Joy AI Tablet Apps Provide Effective Solutions to Caregiver Shortages, Loneliness, and Isolation

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., March 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In response to growing challenges facing seniors and their caregivers—including caregiver shortages, health impacts of loneliness and isolation, and increased demands on families—ONSCREEN is reshaping the elder care landscape with its proactive AI companion named Joy. Joy addresses these critical issues by intelligently interacting with older adults, offering companionship, mental stimulation, personalized engagement, and essential caregiving support, while providing caregivers and loved ones real time activity reports.

Today, ONSCREEN announced that its “ONSCREEN Joy” app for iPad and Android tablets is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and can be downloaded for free. The free version of the app brings daily reminders, text messaging and picture frame functionality to any tablet, however the Plus monthly subscription, affordably priced at $9.99 with a 30-day free trial, unlocks full access to all features, including auto-answered video calling, personalized proactive engagement, medication reminders, wellness check-ins, entertainment suggestions, and real-time remote alerts. This new app makes AI-powered elder care accessible on everyday tablets, offering families a more affordable, flexible, and convenient way to remotely support aging loved ones.

“With Joy now accessible on all major tablets by simply installing the ONSCREEN Joy app, we’re providing families a powerful, cost-effective way to tackle key caregiving issues head-on,” said Costin Tuculescu, CEO of ONSCREEN. “The ONSCREEN Joy app empowers seniors with independence and emotional support while simultaneously easing caregiver stress, keeping families connected and informed about the state of their elder loved ones, no matter the distance.”

Expanding from TV to Tablets

ONSCREEN initially introduced its innovative elder care solution through “Moment,” a TV-based system that brought AI companionship and caregiving directly into seniors’ homes via their televisions. With the expansion to tablets, ONSCREEN now offers families even greater flexibility and choice in how they support and engage their aging loved ones.

Unlike other tablet based senior care solutions constrained to dedicated tablet hardware, ONSCREEN’s Joy app allows family caregivers to turn any existing tablet (especially those that have been tucked away in a drawer somewhere), into senior care devices that bring peace of mind.

For seniors: The ONSCREEN Joy app provides continuous engagement through personalized conversations, wellness check-ins, medication reminders, and social interactions —keeping seniors mentally stimulated while reducing loneliness. When not in use, ONSCREEN Joy turns the idle tablet into an interactive photo frame, keeping precious moments with family and friends in constant rotation.

For families and caregivers: The “ONSCREEN Joy” app streamlines caregiving with a platform that enables seamless communication via easy-to-use video calls, and text, voice, photo and video messaging, intuitive AI powered check-ins, real-time push notifications and an activity log—without any complicated installations or setup processes – bringing peace-of-mind and respite to caregivers that are often overwhelmed with caregiving responsibilities.

ONSCREEN Moment, the original TV-based elder care solution, continues to be available for families preferring a television-centric experience. Moment includes ONSCREEN’s full suite of caregiving capabilities, as well as streaming TV powered by Pluto TV and remote TV control, and can be purchased directly from the ONSCREEN website, with subscription plans starting at $29.99 per month.
