BEIJING, Sept. 20, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — At the foot of the Badaling Great Wall, four travel influencers from the UK, Australia, Canada, and Thailand were honored as “Great Wall Hero: Visit Beijing Tourism Ambassadors” during the global marketing event titled “Great Wall Heroes 2024—Ensemble of the Great Wall and the Central Axis.”

Attendees included representatives from various cultural and tourism bureaus across Beijing, key scenic areas, inbound tourism enterprises, media, and international guests. The event was broadcast globally via the official “Visit Beijing” overseas social media channels, reaching over 100,000 online viewers through images, videos, and live streams.

Ensemble of World Heritage Sites: Celebrating New Splendor

The Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, reflecting Beijing’s status as a national cultural center and hub for international exchanges, leveraged the city’s global reputation as a world-class cultural and tourism destination to emphasize its rich heritage. In July, the successful inclusion of the “Beijing Central Axis: A Building Ensemble Exhibiting the Ideal Order of the Chinese Capital” on the UNESCO World Heritage List brought China’s total number of world heritage sites to 59, making Beijing the city with the most such sites globally, with eight in total.

This year’s “Great Wall Heroes” event, themed “Ensemble of the Great Wall and the Central Axis,” aimed to highlight the vibrancy of Beijing’s heritage through the in-depth experiences of travel influencers exploring iconic landmarks like the Great Wall and the Central Axis.

The event featured an exciting video of the four “Great Wall Heroes” exploring Beijing. Guided by bilingual expert Dou Junjie, the influencers journeyed through iconic sites like the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace, gaining a deeper understanding of Chinese civilization. They cycled along the streets of the Central Axis, embraced Beijing’s modern lifestyle, climbed the Badaling Great Wall, experienced the unique “night tour”, visited the Yanqing Olympic Center to see the reuse of Olympic venues, and savored local delicacies like Beijing Duck and zhajiangmian.

Since last year, China has introduced a series of policies to ease the arrival of foreign visitors, reaffirming its commitment to openness. The “Great Wall Heroes” from Australia, Thailand, the UK, and Canada benefited from visa-free entry or the 144-hour transit visa exemption, allowing them to enjoy a smooth travel experience.

This year, Beijing has focused on tackling the challenges encountered by tourists throughout their journey—arrival, transportation, accommodation, sightseeing, shopping, and payment. The city has made significant efforts to elevate service standards and improve the overall travel experience. Upon arriving, the “Great Wall Heroes” were introduced to seamless payment solutions at the international traveler service centers in both airports. Throughout their visit, they experimented with different payment methods, using foreign cards for subway fares, mobile payments for bike rentals and restaurant orders, and cash for cultural souvenirs, excitedly commenting, “It’s incredibly convenient!”

MINTO APARTMENT REIT ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER 2024 CASH DISTRIBUTION

OTTAWA, ON, Nov. 15, 2024 /CNW/ – Minto Apartment Real Estate Investment Trust (the “REIT”) (TSX: MI.UN) today announced a cash distribution of $0.04333 per REIT unit for the month of November 2024. Payment will be made on December 16, 2024 to unitholders of record as at November 30, 2024.

As previously announced, the amount of the November distribution represents a 3% increase from the prior level, resulting in an increase in the annualized amount of the REIT’s distribution from $0.505 per unit to $0.52 per unit.

Equinox, Inc. Provides Notification of Cybersecurity Incident

ALBANY, N.Y., Nov. 15, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Equinox, Inc. (“Equinox”), a nonprofit provider of various counseling and health services, has learned of a cybersecurity incident that involved the personal and / or protected health information belonging to certain current and former clients, and to a number of staff. On November 15, 2024, Equinox formally notified potentially affected individuals with available address information and provided resources to assist them.

On April 29, 2024, Equinox discovered unusual activity within its digital environment. Upon discovering this activity, Equinox immediately took steps to secure its systems and enlisted independent cybersecurity forensic experts to conduct an investigation. During this time, Equinox was vigilant and able to safely minimize any disruptions to its daily operations and service delivery.

As a result of an independent forensic investigation into the incident, Equinox learned that an unauthorized actor accessed and potentially acquired certain files stored within its internal systems. Following a comprehensive review of the potentially affected data, on September 16, 2024, Equinox determined that certain employee and client information may have been subject to the unauthorized access. This information varies between individuals, but may have included names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, passport numbers, financial account information, driver’s license and/or state identification number, medical treatment or diagnosis information, health insurance information, and/or medication-related information.

Equinox has no evidence that any of the information potentially impacted in connection with this incident has been misused. Nonetheless, Equinox has implemented additional security features to help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Equinox has also reported this matter to the NYS Attorney General, NYS Division of State Police, NYS Department of State’s Division of Consumer Protection, and the Federal Office of Civil Rights.

Notification letters were mailed to impacted individuals on November 15, 2024. The letters include information about this incident and about steps that potentially impacted individuals can take to monitor and help protect their personal and protected health information. Equinox has established a toll-free call center to answer questions about the incident and to address related concerns. The call center can be reached at (866) 531-3185, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Eastern time.
