EMA Research Reveals Nearly 96% of IT Professionals Believe Generative AI Will Boost IT Productivity

Drawing insights from 151 IT professionals with direct experience in generative AI, the study delves into how IT organizations are integrating these tools, the benefits realized, and the challenges faced

LAFAYETTE, Colo., Aug. 20, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Enterprise Management Associates (EMA™), a leading IT and data management analyst research and consulting firm, today announced the release of a new research report, “Applying Generative AI to IT Operations,” authored by Shamus McGillicuddy, vice president of research covering network management at EMA. Given the extreme interest in generative AI and the billions of dollars being invested in the technology, EMA decided to investigate how enterprise IT organizations are applying the technology to IT operations tasks and processes today.

When IT leaders started telling EMA more than a year ago that their personnel were using premium ChatGPT subscriptions to create device configs and automation scripts, we knew the industry was on the verge of a revolution.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been a hot IT industry buzzword for many years, particularly in the context of AIOps (AI for IT operations). AIOps is primarily the application of machine learning and other advanced algorithms to IT telemetry data for event correlation, anomaly detection, problem isolation, root-cause analysis, and other operational use cases. AIOps promised to streamline and automate various aspects of IT management, and it continues to gain momentum in the industry.

More recently, the emergence of ChatGPT from OpenAI kicked interest in AI into overdrive. ChatGPT and the countless competing platforms that followed it to market leverage large language models (LLM) to power generative AI, a technology that can produce new content in response to user prompts.

EMA spoke to many IT professionals who are successfully applying consumer-facing, general-purpose generative AI tools to IT operations tasks. The research aimed to uncover how these technologies can be effectively applied to IT management.

Some of the key findings from this report include:

Most IT professionals are using both general-purpose tools like ChatGPT and generative AI capabilities from their IT vendorsThe top challenges with applying generative AI to IT operations are validating quality of AI outputs, managing data quality, and integrating AI into tools and processes93% believe it is at least somewhat important for their IT vendors to offer generative AI capabilitiesThe two biggest potential benefits of applying generative AI to IT management tasks are the optimization of IT service performance and the improved alignment of IT with the business

“When IT leaders started telling EMA more than a year ago that their personnel were using premium ChatGPT subscriptions to create device configs and automation scripts, we knew the industry was on the verge of a revolution,” McGillicuddy said. “This research explores how that revolution will proceed, assuming CIOs can navigate the adoption challenges and security risks.”

This independent research, sponsored by NETSCOUT, offers a detailed analysis of the findings. Highlights from the report will be unveiled during a complimentary webinar on August 27. Interested parties can register at https://info.enterprisemanagement.com/applying-genai-to-it-ops-webinar-pr

Supporting Local Independent Music Venues and Artists

DALLAS, Sept. 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Dallas based Mullen & Mullen Law Firm proudly announces the launch of the Mullen & Mullen Music Project, a dynamic initiative created in partnership with Spune Productions. The collaboration is designed to celebrate and rejuvenate the North Texas music scene by offering a platform for both emerging and established artists. The initiative kicked off with a Concert Series at local independent music venues.

Supporting Local Talent and Venues
Running from August to April, the Mullen & Mullen Music Project will feature 12 concerts at some of North Texas’s most cherished venues. The series kicked off on August 6th with a performance by Ben Nichols of Lucero at Club Dada. The Quaker City Night Hawks made their triumphant return at Tulips FTW on August 30th after a touring hiatus. The Quaker City Night Hawks concert was filmed on professional grade video cameras installed at the venue by the Music Project and live-edited by the firm’s videographer Sean Pollaro – himself a musician. The new cameras at Tulips FTW will serve as a wonderful content creation tool for local artists.

Enhancing the Music Experience
The Music Project has allowed participating venues to expedite substantial upgrades already underway. Ferris Wheelers Live has enhanced its suites and stage while embarking on an ambitious Ferris Wheel lighting project. Club Dada has upgraded its outdoor patio stage, and Tulips FTW installed the beforementioned state-of-the-art video and streaming system, enabling artists to record music and stream live performances. Each venue will also feature new murals designed and created by local artists.

A Community-Centered Initiative
Shane Mullen, Managing Attorney at Mullen & Mullen Law Firm, shared the firm’s vision: “The trust and loyalty of the North Texas community have been the foundation of our success. This project is our way of giving back by enriching the local cultural landscape and supporting the artists and venues that make our region unique.”

Corey Pond, General Manager of Spune Productions, added: “This initiative addresses the challenges faced by the indie music scene, providing more opportunities for local artists and supporting our cherished venues. It underscores the power of community, collaboration, and the enduring spirit of local music.”
