Benchmark Brasov Expansion More Than Doubles Manufacturing Capacity and Will Add 500 Jobs in the Region

TEMPE, Ariz., July 25, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Benchmark Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: BHE), a global provider of engineering, design, and manufacturing services, today celebrated the opening of its significantly expanded presence in Brasov, Romania, continuing the company’s investment in the region. This expansion is intended to support customer-driven demand for access to high-technology manufacturing solutions, localized and global supply chains, and a customer-focused team committed to optimizing delivery, quality, cost, and manufacturing and engineering services. Key market sectors serviced include complex industrials, medical, and semiconductor capital equipment. The company celebrated the opening on Thursday, July 25, alongside key partners and a host of suppliers, local dignitaries, and community members.

The new space not only provides new manufacturing space, but also improves system integration and workflow on the floor.

Yardi Expert Fil Southerland Reappointed to HITAC

Director of health care solutions to serve a second term on government advisory body

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Jan. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Fil Southerland, director of health care solutions at Yardi®, has been reappointed to the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC). The U.S. Comptroller General and head of the U.S. Government Accountability Office announced the reappointment of Southerland, along with five others, to serve a second three-year term through 2027.  

The HITAC was established in 2016 under the 21st Century Cures Act. The committee provides recommendations on policies, standards, implementation specifications and certification criteria to the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy/Office of the National Coordinator. It advises on the implementation of health information technology that advances the electronic use of health information.

Southerland continues to bring extensive experience and perspective to the HITAC as a strong advocate for implementing health information technology in senior living. Southerland has been involved with the senior living and long-term and post-acute care (LTPAC) industries for over 18 years. At Yardi, he leads initiatives in electronic health care records and interoperability. He was founder and CTO of ALMSA, Inc., a cloud-based electronic health provider in the assisted living space that was acquired by Yardi in 2012.

Veterans Benefits Administration awards medical disability examination services contract to Leidos QTC Health Services

RESTON, Va., Jan. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Leidos (NYSE:LDOS) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, QTC Medical Services, operating under the brand name Leidos QTC Health Services, has been awarded a contract by the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) for performing Medical Disability Examination Services in Regions 1-4.  

“With more than 1 million examination cases delivered in 2024, Leidos QTC Health Services continues to drive innovation and increase program efficiency for the VBA,” said Liz Porter, Leidos Health & Civil Sector president. “These veteran disability compensation and pension exams provide a vital service to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.”

Leidos QTC Health Services has supported the VBA continually since 1998, expanding services to an average of 63,000 veterans per month. Continuous innovations have generated far greater program efficiency, including infusing artificial intelligence and machine learning to augment processing.

Leidos QTC Health Services also expanded its fleet of mobile health clinics to provide better access to services for veterans in rural locations and for those who are homebound. These and other program improvements are allowing the VBA to provide smarter, more effective exam services for veterans.

Under the new short-term indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, Leidos will provide the exams and associated case administration services nationwide, including claimant communication, appointment scheduling, provider training, system interfaces with VBA IT systems, and medical records management. With a period of performance of one year and one optional year, the contract includes performance-based measures of exam production, average days to complete, average days pending, quality of service, and customer satisfaction evaluations.
