Greenberg Traurig Expands MedTech Practice with Addition of Christopher Bolten

Prominent Intellectual Property & Technology attorney Christopher C. Bolten has joined global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a shareholder in the Life Sciences & Medical Technology Practice.

SAN DIEGO, May 29, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Prominent Intellectual Property & Technology attorney Christopher C. Bolten has joined global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a shareholder in the Life Sciences & Medical Technology Practice. He will be based in the firm’s San Diego office.

Trained as a mechanical engineer, Bolten’s practice focuses on medical technology (MedTech). He helps medical device and digital health companies across the United States, Europe, and Israel build patent portfolios to protect and enforce their intellectual property (IP). Bolten also provides IP due diligence services for venture capital firms and advises on associated risks related to their MedTech investments.

“Health care companies are now thinking more like technology companies, so Chris’s area of practice is an essential addition to our robust IP and Patents and Innovation Strategies practices,” said G. Michelle Ferreira, senior vice president of the firm and co-managing shareholder of the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices. “He has a broad cross-border practice that runs the gamut from startups seeking FDA approval for single devices to well-established multinational public companies; in other words, Chris’s clients could benefit from Greenberg Traurig’s vast global platform.”

Bolten has been advising digital health companies using artificial intelligence and machine learning before “AI” became household terminology. Whether it was working with companies that used AI to assist surgical robots or to analyze heart signals to help diagnose cardiac abnormalities like atrial fibrillation – a feature now found in FDA-approved consumer smartwatches – Bolten has been at the forefront of AI’s overlap with digital health for many years, where the goal has always been to enhance patient care.

“I worked with Chris when he was a junior attorney, and it’s been a joy to see his rise here in Southern California, where he is well-known in the tech and legal spaces,” Shareholder David A. Gay, Ph.D. said. “Chris will perfectly complement the existing life sciences practice we have developed both in San Diego and across the firm.”

Bolten’s previous work with wireless communication and cellular technology has come full circle; he has seen his own practice areas of communications and medical devices converge. More digital health companies are creating software and collecting data with the goal of helping patients receive targeted diagnoses or medical treatment, often with the help of AI.

“Greenberg Traurig’s footprint and global platform overlap neatly with where my clients are based,” Bolten said. “The firm has a stellar reputation in the IP and patent prosecution community, and I could not be more excited to join a first-class group of attorneys.”

Bolten received his J.D. from the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, magna cum laude, and a B.S. in mechanical engineering, with honors, from Michigan State University. He is admitted to practice law in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals and District Courts in California, Colorado, and Texas. Bolten joins the firm from Eversheds Sutherland.

New Digital Vault Organizes Documents into a Single Document Management Platform

ATLANTA, April 23, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — REALTY|share, a leading provider of document management solutions for the real estate industry, announced its successful partnership with Realterm, a global investment manager focused on transportation logistics real estate. By collaborating with REALTY|share, Realterm has transformed its document management strategy, achieving significant improvements in efficiency and regulatory compliance.

“We are committed to empowering our clients with solutions that drive efficiency and innovation, and we are proud to have played a pivotal role in Realterm’s document management transformation.”

“I spent over a year interviewing companies and researching to find what would be most successful in the Realterm environment,” said Leanne Ross, Records Manager at Realterm. “REALTY|share was able to truly integrate with the Yardi environment in the way required to support Realterm’s vision for an improved records and data governance process.”

Realterm sought a document management solution to streamline business processes and strategically organize crucial information across its rapidly expanding global operations. Facing challenges with legacy repositories and unintegrated record systems, Realterm recognized the need for a centralized, efficient document management platform.

REALTY|share understood Realterm’s need for a ‘single Source of Truth’ to replace their fragmented document management landscape. A solution was designed to address these complex challenges, providing seamless integration and enhanced user experience.

“Truly the best part of working with REALTY|share has been the collaboration,” added Ross. “We spent time with the REALTY|share team explaining our needs and requirements. The automation and security we’ve built is fantastic and allows us to leverage Microsoft 365 in a completely new and more innovative way.”

REALTY|share’s solution, branded internally as the Realterm Document Vault (RDV), has enabled the organization to streamline records management across the entire organization, enhance user accessibility by providing flexible access points including REALTY|share Desktop, Outlook integration and direct links from SharePoint to DocuSign. Document retrieval improvements were made through the implementation of a common taxonomy for consistent document classification and more efficient search capabilities for all employees regardless of location. Additionally, users can bridge data silos by enabling non-Yardi users to access critical Yardi data, fostering collaboration.

“The success of this deployment highlights REALTY|share’s ability to seamlessly integrate with existing platforms like Microsoft 365 and Yardi, while providing powerful tools for document management,” said Kevin Abel, Executive Director at REALTY|share. “We are committed to empowering our clients with solutions that drive efficiency and innovation, and we are proud to have played a pivotal role in Realterm’s document management transformation. Altus Nova Launches Advanced Multi-User Voice Platform to Reinvent Memorization and Learning–First Deployed for Bible Study Groups

Published

on

By

AUSTIN, Texas, April 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Altus Nova Technologies, a product and technology consulting firm known for solving complex software challenges, today announced the release of a breakthrough voice-based learning platform that transforms how individuals and groups engage with and memorize meaningful texts. Developed as a charitable initiative and offered completely free to the public, the platform was initially built to support Bible study groups, churches, and youth organizations, while the underlying technology represents a major advancement in multi-user voice interaction and real-time learning systems.

“Projects like this let us test and prove those capabilities in meaningful ways.”

The system blends custom speech recognition workflows, AI-generated, contextually relevant study plans, and real-time device synchronization — offering a level of interactivity and feedback not seen in commercial voice applications today.

Built to Overcome the Limitations of Smart Assistants

The project began with an early prototype using Alexa buttons, but the team quickly encountered significant limitations—such as fixed listening windows, unreliable pause handling, and a lack of support for multiplayer turn-taking. Altus Nova responded by building a completely custom voice experience from the ground up.

“We realized that if we wanted natural, real-time spoken interaction with multiple users, we had to build the entire system ourselves—from audio handling to turn coordination to cross-device synchronization,” said Puru Agrawal, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Altus Nova.

Key Features of the Platform

Solo Memorization Mode: Users select Bible verses to practice. The system voice reads each passage aloud, pausing at key words, while users “buzz in” to speak the missing words. Spoken responses are analyzed for accuracy and progress is tracked over time.AI-Driven Study Plans: The platform uses AI to recommend relevant Bible passages based on themes such as Courage, Forgiveness, or Purpose, and provides meaningful explanations to help users connect with the material.Multiplayer Competition Mode: Up to four users can join a shared session via a link. The system coordinates buzzer input, turn-taking, microphone access, scoring, and synchronized visual cues—ensuring a smooth and fair voice-based competition.Device Coordination Engine: Built-in real-time synchronization ensures all devices reflect the current phrase, score status, and speaker turn—making the experience immersive whether users are in the same room or connected remotely.

Advancing Innovation for Real-World Applications

While this project was designed as a free resource for communities, it also reflects the kind of technical leadership Altus Nova brings to its commercial clients. The skills and technologies developed—such as voice automation, real-time coordination, and resilient distributed systems—are being applied to solve mission-critical challenges across industries.

“We’re using the same architectural foundation to help utility companies build voice-based dispatching and coordination platforms for outage response teams communicating by radio in the field,” said Jason Parrish, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Altus Nova. “These systems require fast decision-making, reliable speech input, and multi-user coordination under real-world constraints. Projects like this let us test and prove those capabilities in meaningful ways.”
